Proverbs 10:3 (NLT), "The LORD will not let the godly go hungry, but he refuses to satisfy the craving of the wicked."
Friday... Two very interesting words
Proverbs 10:3 (NLT) says, "The LORD will not let the godly go hungry, but he refuses to satisfy the craving of the wicked."
The first word that caught my attention was craving. This proverb says "but he refuses the craving of the wicked." Now the problem here is that carvings are never satisfied and the wicked live off of unsatisfied cravings. They keep craving for more. But "The LORD will not let the godly go hungry." The key is they live off of wisdom.
Look at these proverbs. Verse 4 says, "Lazy people are soon poor; hard workers get rich."
Verse 5, "A wise youth harvests in summer, but one who sleeps during harvest is a disgrace."
Verse 6, "The godly are showered with blessings; the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions."
"The LORD will not let the godly go hungry, but he refuses to satisfy the craving of the wicked."
Which will we live by, wisdom or cravings?
Here is another word. Verse 38 says, "The hopes of the godly result in happiness, but the expectations of the wicked come to nothing." And the word here is expectations.
Now that is a great fact for godly people. Their expectations come from their faith in connecting with God through prayer and through wisdom from God and their obedience.
Yes, the wicked's expectations are reward initially but they eventually come to nothing. Their expectations are worthless because they are all for self and wickedness. As 6b says, "the words of the wicked conceal violent intentions."
Now turning those two words around, they make such a difference. If we grave God's wisdom and His way, and His word that will make all the difference in our lives and if we live with expectation from God then watch out.
Ok, just some thoughts from the 10th chapter of Proverbs. Let's turn those two words around and live by them. Now tomorrow I will be reading Proverbs 11 with expectation. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
