Friday... But do you understand? That word has come up in many instances in my discussions with others. It has been so important to me to be understood not necessarily to be in agreement but to be understood. But as I was reading Proverbs 3:5 (NLT) I saw the word in a different light. At least how I was using it. It says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart. do not depend on your own understanding." It seems that for us to be understood is not the important thing here. It even has a do not attached to it. It seems to be a self-centered thing. The important issue is to trust in the Lord with all your heart and to not depend on your own understanding. But what we think can be so important to us. Yes it is important to understand but not necessarily to be understood. Proverbs 2:1-5 says, "My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands.
