Tuesday... It is important to Him. Psalm 87:1 - 3 (NLT) says, "On the holy mountain stands the city founded by the Lord. He loves the city of Jerusalem more than any other city in Israel. O city of God, what glorious things are said of you." Think of this. Jerusalem was the fulfillment of two of God's promises. He had promised the children of Israel a home when they were slaves in Egypt. And Jerusalem was the main city of that Promise Land but there was also another promise. Jerusalem was where His Son Jesus would die and then be resurrected. He also had promised that. He loved to fulfill and still does love to fulfill His promises. Verse 7b says, "The source of my life springs from Jerusalem." Now that gives me encouragement as I face today. God keeps His promises. Now what if I hadn't read that Psalm today?
