Today's Beginning

Monday... Asking the what if question can be a great reminder. My mom's birthday was at the end of last month. What if she hadn't been born, what if she hadn't become a Christian, what if she wouldn't have met my dad, what if they hadn't gotten married? But she was and she did and on June 1st, almost 75 years ago I came into this world because God brought everything together. You could do the same thing with your life. Asking the what if question can be a great reminder, can't it? Well David in Psalm 124:1 (NLT) writes, "What if the Lord had not been on our side?"  Now for some they don't realize that God has been a part of their life on the outside because they haven't had a relationship with Him and they haven't had the benefits of that relationship. But He has. He has been there putting situations in their life, striving to get them to come to Him but their what ifs can be great disappointments and deep regrets. David writes in verses 2-...

Thursday... It is good to be reminded sometimes. It really is! David begins the 124th Psalm (NLT) by saying, "What if the Lord had not been on our side?"  And then verse 2 he says again, "What if the Lord had not been on our side?" Now the truth He is on our side even if we don't have a relationship with Him but we don't reap all the benefits. I mean, Jesus died for everyone but we don't realize what that means until we turn our life over to Him. Yes He is on everyone's side but we don't realize the benefits but those who have a relationship need to stop and see what a difference He has made in our lives. Verses 2-5 (MSG) says, "If God hadn't been for us when everyone went against us, we would have beed swallowed alive by their violent anger, swept away by the flood of rage, drowned in the torrent; we would have lost our lives in the wild, raging water." Ask yourself, what would all that we have been going through these last two yea...

Friday... What if? What if? David in Psalm 124:1 (NLT) writes, "What if the Lord has not been on our side?" We need to be reminded of what if the Lord had not been on our side through this past year. What if the Lord had not been on our side when we lost our job? What if the Lord had not been with us when we were facing the unknow of a physical problem? What if the Lord had not been on your side through whatever you have gone through this past week and through whatever you are facing today? David goes on. Verses 2-5 says, "What if the Lord had not been on our side when people attacked us? They would have swallowed us alive in thir burning anger. The waters would have engulfed us; a torrent would have overwhelmed us. Yes the raging waters of their fury would have overwhelmed our very lives." Yes what we went through was awful, but what if the Lord had not been on our side. In no matter what we have or are going through we need to be reminded of what if, what if. But ...
