Tuesday... What kind of expectation do we have for today?

Psalm 125:1-2 (AMP), "Those who trust and rely on the Lord [with confident expectation] are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but remains forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people from this time forth and forever" Tuesday... What kind of expectation do we have for today? Now each of us comes from a different place as we face today. We are each individuals, none of us are the same so our expectation of today is different. But there are some pictures that can give us some commonality. The people of Israel for the most part would go to the city of Jerusalem for different kinds of celebration so on their way they had some Psalms that were written to prepare them for what was coming and they are also great Psalms of preparation for us in what we will be facing and Psalm 125 is one of those Psalms of Ascents. Psalm 125 starts by saying in verse 1 (AMP), "Those who trust and rely on the Lord [with confident expectation] are like Mount Z...

Wednesday... They definitely have a purpose.

Wednesday... They definitely have a purpose. We just got back late last night from Denver, Colorado where our son, Brett and his family live. Denver on its western side has beautiful mountains that protects them from some of nature's storms. Usually the tornadoes happen out on the eastern prairie except this past month. There were trees all over the place even in their yard that came down. But it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Here in Las Vegas we also have mountains that protected us from some of the storms that come our way. And they can't be moved no matter the storm. Now the writer of Psalm 125 in verses 1 & 2 (AMP) says, "Those who trust in and rely on the Lord [with confident expectation] are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but remains forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the ...

Tuesday... We are surrounded...

Tuesday... We are surrounded. Yes we are. Everywhere we turn in this New Year there are problems and concerns and difficulties and pandemic and violence and discord. It seems like it would be a good time to surrender, but is it? It is all in what we see. We truly are surrounded here in Las Vegas. This is Sin City but it is also surrounded by mountains. As we open our blinds each morning we see mountains to our west, south, east and north. We are surrounded. And that is the picture that Psalm 125:2 (NLT) paints, "Just as the mountains surround Jerusalem [Las Vegas], so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forever." And that means 2021. Yes it does! This is not the time to surrender. We are surrounded by the Lord no matter when it is and where we are. Verse 1 say, "Those who trust in the Lord are as secure as Mount Zion; they will not be defeated but will endure forever." Verses 1-5 in the Message Paraphrase says it like this, "Those who trust in God are li...
