It great to start with a true assessment of the situation and David in all honesty starts with "I'm a mess." He knows he needs help, he knows he needs God. He goes on, "I'm nothing and I have nothing:" And then he asks, "Make something of me. You can do it - you've got what it takes -" And that is also a true assessment of the situation. David knows where to turn for help. He knows he needs help and he know where to go for help. For us it used to be the Yellow Pages but we don't have them anymore.
