Monday... To benefit or suffer, which will it be? And that is a good question. The writer of Proverbs 9:4 (MSG) asks another question. He asks, "Are you confused about life, don't know what's going on?" And then in verse 6 he says, "Leave your impoverished confusion and live. " The NLT puts it this way, "Leave your simple ways behind and begin to live; learn to use good judgment." Verses 11-12 says, "Wisdom will multiply your days and add years to your life. If you become wise, you will be the one to benefit . If you scorn wisdom, you will be the one to suffer ." The MSB says, "Live wisely and wisdom will permeate your life; mock life and life will mock you." And back to verse 10 (AMP), "The reverent fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and preeminent part of wisdom [its starting point and its essence].
