Friday... Yes, I just need some help.

Psalm 61:2 (AMP), "From the end of the earth I call to You, when my heart is overwhelmed and weak; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I [a rock that is too high to reach without Your help]." Friday... Yes, I just need some help. I live in a desert with mountains around us made from rocks. Now if it rains which it doesn't do too often but when it does it can be dangerous because there can be flash floods. Now we have a whole lot of visitors to our town and some may not understand the dangers of our desert and mountains, when it rains. For example, they could be out hiking by themselves which is very popular and a rainstorm comes up and a river on a dry bed comes rushing toward them and there is a rock of safety but they are alone and can't get to it by themselves. Because they are alone they are overwhelmed. Yes, they just need some help. Now we can in our life have so many situations where we need help but we are alone and overwhelmed. Thursday... Repetition can be so important.

Thursday... Repetition can be so important. It seems that even in reading the Bible on a daily basis we want and we think we need to find something new, something we haven't heard before. And that is important in our growth and maturity. But the key is, are we living by what we know. Maybe we need to have it told to us over and over and live it. I have read daily the book of Psalms in the Old Testament of the Bible for over 50 years and in those 150 Psalms I have found a whole lot of repetition. Now I have written for a lot years from the truths of the Psalms and I wonder if I have repeated some of those truths to the point that some would say that they have heard that so they need to head to a new voice. And of course each of us has that choice. But we really do need some repetition to keep us on the right path, don't we? Now here is what King David says in today's Psalm. He starts Psalm 61:1-3 (NLT) this way, "O God, listen to my cry! Hear my prayer! From the ends of...

Thursday... We love the view and we feel safe.

Thursday... We love the view, we have a great view and we feel safe. Our home is on the 3rd floor of building 12 and that means we have a great view of the Las Vegas Valley. It gives us a great perspective. We can see the cars headed to wherever. We can see the Spring Mountains and they are beautiful. We can see so much more than if we were on the 1st floor. Now just south of us we see this small mountain and it is off by itself. It is called Lone Mountain. My son-in-law, Andrew and our granddaughter, Harper have climbed that mountain and they say it is a great place to view the valley. And I'm sure they have a sense of empowerment looking out over the city. Now it takes some work to climb up there but they say it is worth it. They are not overwhelmed and they feel safe up there. David was going through a difficult situation and he felt overwhelmed. He said in Psalm 61:1-3 (NLT), "O God, listen to my cry! Hear my prayer! From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when m...
