Some would question if there are two Gods, the God of the Old Testament and the God of the New. Now David here is talking about the God of the Old Testament. Now some want to do away with the God of the Old Testament but he is the same God in both. The Old Testament is a step by step background story of God's preparation for Jesus, his Son and his coming to earth. It also is a story of God's unfailing love toward the those who trust in him and also of his reaction to the wicked, those who turn their backs to him.
