Thursday... What more could he have done? Isaiah the prophet in chapter 5 of his book tells about all that a man did to make a beautiful, productive vineyard. In verse 2 he says, "He plowed the land, cleared its stones, and planted it with the best vines. In the middle he built a watchtower and carved a winepress in the nearby rocks. Then he waited for the harvest of sweet grapes, but the grapes he grew were bitter." And then in verse 4 it says, "What more could I have done for my vineyard that I have not already done? When I expect sweet grapes, why did my vineyard give me bitter grapes?" Have you ever thought about what more does God needs to do in peoples lives that haven't turned to him, who don't follow him? I mean, he created a beautiful garden back in Genesis and Adam and Eve didn't do what he wanted them to do and so many are doing the same thing today. What more could he have done?
