But that isn't the way he started this Psalm. In verse 1 he writes, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far away when I groan for help." He even looks to the future when Jesus will be on the cross. He says in verses 16-18, "My enemies surround me like a pack of dogs; an evil gang closes in on me. They have pierced my hands and feet. I can count all my bones. My enemies stare at me and gloat. They divide my garments among themselves and throw dice for my clothings." Yes David knows how we feel and so does Jesus, God's Son.
