But the truth is, it really starts with our response. Proverbs 15:1 (MSG) says, "A gentle response defuses anger, but a sharp tongue kindles a temper-fire." And the important word in there is response. We have no control over the other person. We only have control of ourself. Now we may be right but how we respond determines how we come out of the situation. How we respond is so important. Psalm 15:1 asks a question and then verse 2 gives a response. It asks, "God, who gets invited to dinner at your place? How do we get on your guest list." And that is a pretty important question, isn't it? Verse 2 responds, "Walk straight, act right, tell the truth." The NLT says, "Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbor or speak evil of their friends." We can do so much harm...
