Today's Beginning

Proverbs 18:13 (NLT), "Sprouting off before listening to the facts is both shameful and foolish." Wednesday... It can be so easy to react before we think. I just read Proverbs 18 and there is so much here that deals with this. Verse 13 (NLT) says "Sprouting off before listening to the facts is both shameful and foolish." It really is. We come into a situation and someone says something and we lay into them without thinking. There is so much of that in this day in which we live. Verse 13 in The Amplified Bible says, "He who answers before he hears [the facts] - it is folly and shame to him." It really is. Verse 15 says, "The mind of the prudent [always] acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise [always] seeks knowledge." Always, always. Back to verse 2, "A [close-minded] fool does not delight in understanding, but only in revealing his personal opinions [unwittingly displaying his self-indulgence and his stupidity]."
