Matthew 3:16 (NLT), "After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him." We now have such a privilege and opportunity. Now over in Matthew 3 we are introduced to Jesus by John the Baptist. It was an personal introduction of God. Before this God could not be seen. Psalm 97:1-2a (AMP) says, "The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice; Let the many islands and coastlands be glad. Clouds and thick darkness surround Him [as at Sinai]."
