Proverbs 13:4 (NLT), "Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper."
Monday... Yes, there is a definite difference.
There are some things in life that we do that have control and that really do make a definite difference. Solomon writes in Proverbs 13:4 (NLT), "Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper." I know, I know, after a busy weekend we're not too sure about this working hard and if it is worth it but it is.
Now the source is important. Psalm 73:23-26 says, "Yet, I still belong to you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny. Whom in heaven have I but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever."
So why in the world would I be lazy when God is my source and my strength?
Back to Proverbs 13. Verse 11 says, "Wealth from get-rich-schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time." Good advice.
But this is also important to see. Jesus in Luke 6:22-23 says, "What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you because you follow the Son of Man. When that happens, be happy! Yes, leap for joy! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember. their ancestors treated the ancient prophets that same way."
And he also says in verses 46-49 (NIRV), "Why do you call me, Lord, Lord, and still don't do what I say? Some people come and listen to me and do what I say. I will show you what they are like. They are like a man who builds a house. He digs down deep and sets it on solid rock. When a flood comes, the river rushes against the house. But the water can't shake it. The house is well built. But here is what happens when people listen to my words and do not obey. They are like a man who builds a house on soft ground instead of solid rock. The moment the river rushes against that house, it falls down. It is completely destroyed."
Yes, God will definitely make a difference in our lives. He wants to be our source and our strength if we come and listen to him and do what he says. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
