Monday... Let's come and see!

Psalm 66:5 (NLT), "Come and see what God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people."

Monday... Let's come and see!

There is so much to see in God's Word. Here the writer of Psalm 66:5 (NLT) says , "Come and see what God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people." And being in God's Word is a great place to be as we start a new day and a new week.

Now the Psalmist then takes us through some past miracles from God. It is always good even on a Monday to remember what God has done and of course we are just coming out of our celebration of Jesus being resurrected from the dead. Yes, the greatest of all of God's miracles

I finished yesterday reading in the Gospel of Mark and of his view of Jesus' life and death and in Mark 16 of His resurrection but today I started looking at the beginning of Jesus life in Luke's Gospel.

Now in chapter 1 it starts differently of the three other gospels. In starts with an angel coming to an older priest, Zechariah who needed to be reminded of what God has done and that he is going to answer the prayer of him and his wife for a child. And that should be very exciting.

But this is what verse 18 says, "Zechariah said to the angel, 'How can I be sure this will happen? I'm an old man now, and my wife is also well along in years.'"

It is important to know that this man was a priest. He studied the Old Testament. He probably had read at some point in time this Psalm and he had prayed for a child but he had gotten old. And through all of that he had some doubts. And that is why we need to be in God's Word on a daily basis. Yes to "Come and see what God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people."

Verse 19 says, "Then the angel said, 'I am Gabriel! I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to bring you this good news! But now, since you didn't believe what I said, you will be silent and unable to speak until the child is born. For my words will be fulfilled at the proper time.'" So he couldn't speak until his son John was born.

Psalm 66:1-2 says, "Shout joyful praises to God, all the earth! Sing about the glory of his name! Tell the world how glorious he is." Praise reminds of who God is and what he can do.

Verses 2-4 says, "Say to God, 'How awesome are your deeds! Your enemies cringe before your mighty power. Everything on earth will worship you: they will sing your praises, shouting your name is glorious songs.'"

Yes, God has the power and he wants to work in and through our lives and he is truly a God of miracles.

By the way, when John was born Zechariah got his voice back and also this John was the messenger who told that Jesus was coming and he even was the one who baptized him and introduced him personally.

Yes, it is unbelievable what God can do, so come and see what he can and wants to do in and through us. Let's be reminded of what he has done and of his miracles that he has performed for people and also for his resurrection. So let's pray and not be surprised when he answers our prayer. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning

Friday... We have this hope of expectancy.

Psalm 5:3 (NLT), "Listen to my voice in the morning Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly." Friday... We have this hope of expectancy. Now David found a great way to start his day. He says in Psalm 5:1-3 (NLT), "O LORD, hear me as I pray." And that is a great place to start. It really is. Morning sunrise He goes on, "Listen to my cry for help, my King, my God, for I pray to no one but you." And that is so important. We don't try to pump ourselves up by ourself. No, we pray to no one but you, God, my LORD, my King. Now this relationship with God is so, so very important. And then David says, "Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you" And that is so great. And then he says, "and wait expectantly." Yes, we have this hope of expectancy. We are experienced. That is what a relationship with God and a moment by moment connection does. It makes a difference in our daily wa...

Friday... Yes, we can know this to be true.

Psalm 12:6 (NLT), "The Lord's promises are pure, like silver refined in a furnace, purified seven times over." Friday... Yes, we can know this to be true. Maybe this is what you want to say in this day in which we live. Psalm 12:1-2 (MSG) says, "Quick, I need your helping hand! The last decent person just went down, all the friends I depend on gone. Everyone talks in lie language; lies slide off their oily lips. They doubletalk with forked tongues." Do you ever feel that way?" Have you found that to be true? Well David the writer of this Psalm continues and says in verse 6 something to encourage us, to lift us up, to give us hope. Psalm 12:6 (NLT) says, "The Lord's promises are pure, like silver refined in a furnace, purified seven times over." The Message Paraphrase says verses 6-8 this way, "God's words are pure words, pure silver words refined seven times in the fires of his word-kiln, pure on earth as well as in heaven, God, keep ...

Friday... So what is it that you really fear?

1 Corinthians 15:57 (NLT), "But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ." Friday... So what is it that you really fear? Yes, fear holds us back. It seems to take hold of us so that we can't even really enjoy living. Now I have found that one of the best ways to handle fear is to solve the problem of what we fear. Let's say that death is what we really fear. Everyday we wake up afraid to get up because we are afraid to do anything because we are afraid to die. And that is so understandable. Now I have found the solution to fearing death. I have through faith taken care of my fear to die. 1 Corinthians 15:57 (NLT) says, "But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ." Verse 22 (CEV) says, "Adam brought death to all of us, and Christ will bring life to all of us." Death was not God's plan. Adam was created for an eternal life but he and his partner, Eve blew it and sin a...
