Psalm 55:22 (NIRV), "Turn your worries over to the LORD. He will keep you going. He will never let godly people be shaken."
Wednesday... What do you do with them?
What worry did you wake up this morning with? What was it? What about yesterday? Was it the same worry? So what do you do with it?
Psalm 55:22 (NIRV) says, "Turn your worries over to the LORD. He will keep you going. He will never let godly people be shaken." The Amplified Bible says , "Cast your burdens on the LORD [release it] and He will sustain and uphold you; He will never let the righteous to be shaken (slip, fall, fail)."
We don't use the word, cares much but we do, worries. We live with them, day after day after day.
Now in the New Testament, Peter writes in his first letter in 5:7 (NIV), "Cast all your anxieties on him because he cares for you."
Pick one. What speaks to you this morning? Is it worries, burdens, anxieties? I guess it really doesn't matter but is there something that you wake up with every morning? Here are the other key words, turn over, cast, release. Those are the action words that we can do and then the key word is the LORD.
I had a vocal teacher who from experience could say the same thing in so many different ways until it clicked with me, it made sense. That is why I read so many different versions and translationa. In my time the Holy Spirit will quicken my mind and heart and speak to me.
Now which one is the Holy Spirit striving to open your heart to? We come from so many different cultures and families and pasts. So what speaks to you today, what opens your mind, your heart to the reality that God wants to make a difference in your worries, your cares, your anxieties? He really does and He will really take care of them if you will release them, cast them, turn them over to Him, to the Lord.
Now as you find one that speaks to you, then memorize it and when a worry, care, anxiety comes, repeat it. At a very difficult time in my life I repeated 1 Peter 5:7 over and over, "Cast all your anxieties on him because he cares for you." Yes, believe it and claim it and do it! There is an emotion even now that comes to me when I say it.
Oh, and The MESSAGE paraphrase says, "Pile your troubles on GOD's shoulders - he'll carry your load, he'll help you out. He'll never let good people topple in ruin." Yes, he will carry your load if you pile them on His shoulders. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
