Proverbs 19:8 (NLT), "To acquire wisdom is to love yourself; people who cherish understanding will prosper."
Thursday... There is so much more.
There really is. Even at 78 there is so much more for me.
Proverbs 19:8 (NLT) says, "To acquire wisdom is to love yourself; people who cherish understanding will prosper." The Amplified Bible says, "He who gains wisdom and good sense loves (preserves) his own soul; He who keeps understanding will find good and prosper,"
Psalm 49:1-3 says, "Listen to this, all you people! Pay attention, everyone in the world! High and low, rich and poor - listen! For my words are wise, and my thoughts are filled with insight."
Over in Mark 3:7a it says, "Jesus went out to the lake with his disciples, and a large crowd followed him." They came from all over. Verse 8b says, "The news of his miracles had spread far and wide, and vast numbers of people came to see him." And then verse 9 says, "Jesus instructed his disciples to have a boat ready so the crowd would not crush him." He had another purpose!
You see they wanted what Jesus could do for them physically but He came to give them more. They didn't want to listen, they wanted to be healed. And that can be so true of us but God has another purpose. Yes he can heal but there is so much more.
There is so much for us if we listen. Yes Jesus can heal but at some point we will die. There is so much more for us. Jesus came to earth to do more than just heal people's bodies. He came to give us life, real life but he needed to be able to tell them and us what real life is. There is so much more.
Back to Proverbs 19:8 (AMP), "He who gains wisdom and good sense loves (preserves) his own soul; He who keeps understanding will find good and prosper," Not just physically. The NIRV says, "Anyone who gets wisdom loves life. Anyone who values understanding will soon succeed."
And then verse 3 says, "People ruin their own lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the LORD." That is foolish. There is so much more that he wants to give us and do for us.
John 3:16-17 says, "For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him."
Yes, there is so much more! Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
