Psalm 35:1 (NLT), "O LORD, oppose those who oppose me, fight those who fight against me."
Thursday... Each day is different.
Yesterday was a beautiful day. It really was but today the wind is blowing and the clouds are hiding our mountains. Yes, we can praise God on the beautiful days but we also need him when the wind is blowing and we can pray, "O LORD, oppose those who oppose me, fight those who fight against me." (Psalm 35:1 NLT). Now we can expect each day to be beautiful but the wind does blow in our lives.
David's prayer continues in verse 2, "Put on your armor, and take up your shield. Prepare for battle, and come to my aid." And maybe that is the prayer we need to pray today.I love verse 3. It says, "Lift up your spear and javelin against those who pursue me. Let me hear you say, 'I will give you victory!'" There may be a battle in there but know this, listen to God when he says, "I will give you victory." The NIVR says, "I will save you."
Yes, there may be a battle in there but you can trust God in those days.
Look at verses 6-7 (NLT). They say, "Make their path dark and slippery, with the angel of the LORD pursuing them. I did them no wrong, but they laid a trap for me. I did them no wrong, but they dug a pit to catch me."
And verse 8 says, "So let sudden ruin come upon them! Let them be caught in the trap they set for me! Let them be destroyed in the pit they dug for me."
In the book of Revelation, the last book in the Bible we can see that God is digging a pit for Satan to be thrown into.
Now David continues his prayer in verses 26-27. He says, "May those who rejoice at my troubles be humiliated and disgraced, May those who triumph over me be covered with shame and dishonor. But give great joy to those who came to my defense. Let them continually say, 'Great is the LORD, who delights in blessing his servant with peace!'"
No matter what we are facing today we too can continually say, "Great is the LORD, who delights in blessing his servant with peace!" Yes, each day is different but that is the same! Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
