Proverbs 16:20-21 (NLT), "Those who listen will prosper; those who trust the LORD will be joyful. The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
Monday... How we say it has an impact.
Yes, how we say the truth has such an impact.
So many seem to want to be in control of every situation. Yes, there are times when we need to be forceful, we need to be in control. I mean, when we see our kid crossing a road and a car is coming then we need to do whatever we can to get their attention and for them to stop or get out of the way. There are times when we need to be imfactic but not all of the time.
Now Proverbs 16:20-21 (NLT) says, "Those who listen will prosper; those who trust the LORD will be joyful. The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." And all of that is so true but how we say it can make such a difference on whether someone listens. Yes, "pleasant words are persuasive."
The truth doesn't always have to be said in a forceful manner. Sometimes, yes, but not all of the time.
Look at how the Amplified Bible says it. "He who pays attention to the word [of God] will find good, and blessed (happy, prosperous, to be admired) is he who trusts [confidently] in the LORD. The wise in heart will be called understanding, and sweet speech increases persuasiveness and learning [in both speaker and listener]."
What we share from God's Words is so very important. It can be life changing and how we say it will make such a difference to those who are listening.
Here is another verse. Verse 18 (NIRV) says, "If you are proud, you will be destroyed. If you are proud, you will fall."
So many times pride gets in the way and saying the truth with pride can really mess the truth up.
Verse 23 say, "The hearts of wise people guide their mouths. The words make people want to learn more." Yes the motivation of our heart comes out of our mouth and how we say the truth.
Again, "Those who listen will prosper; those who trust the LORD will be joyful. The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." And that is the truth. Oh by the may, maybe we need to try it at home. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
