Psalm 13:3 (NLT), "Turn and answer me, O LORD my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die."
Friday... So this is that day.
I so many times respond to people and they come back at me with a, "Are you serious?" and I come back with a "You must see the twinkle in my eye." I strive to spend my days with a twinkle in my eyes. But sometimes for me and for so many people they don't live with that twinkle. Outside situations can take that twinkle from you. Yes, this can be one of those days. This is Friday the 13th.
Now David writes in Psalm 13:3 (NLT), "Turn and answer me, O LORD my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die." Yes there are times in our life when that needs to be our prayer, for God to restore the sparkle to our eyes.
Yes, there are many who face today with some fear and anxiety in their eyes. Today is Friday the 13th and they know something bad is going to happen and that is why Psalm 13:3 is a great verse for today. David writes, "Turn and answer me, O LORD my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die." Yes, so many times we need this verse.
Now David starts this Psalm with some anxiety. In verses 1 & 2 he says, "O LORD, how long will you forget me? How long will you look the other way? How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day? How long will my enemy have the upper hand?" And it would so easy for so many to say that on Friday the 13th.
Yes, verse 3 is a great verse for today, "Turn and answer me, O LORD my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die."
Verse 4 goes on, "Don't let my enemies gloat, saying, 'We have defeated him!' Don't let them rejoice at my downfall." Yes, we have a choice between defeat and sparkle and it starts with our focus.
It is so true, our days can be rough but don't stop there. Verses 5 and 6 says, "But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the LORD because he is good to me."
Jesus says over in Matthew 7: 7-8, "Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened."
Back to David, so "Turn and answer me, O LORD my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die." And he will even on Friday the 13th. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
