Monday... So, how do we face a Monday morning?

Psalm 62:1-2 (NLT), "I wait patiently before God, for my victory comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken."

Monday... So, how do we face a Monday morning?

Now it can be hard to face a new day, a new week, and even today, a new month. I love how our life has been organized the way it is, 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day, 30 or 31 days except for February in a month, 12 months in a year and then centuries and they all end up as an organized life with beginnings and beginnings. Only God in his wisdom could put this all together. And that is why I have named this blog, Todays Beginnings. No matter what has happened we still will have a new beginning.

Now King David was a pro at handling difficulties in life. I have read a Psalm at the beginning of my day for over 40 years. I have needed a word from God through David to start my day and I found this new start to this new day. Psalm 62:1-2 (NLT) says, "I wait patiently before God, for my victory comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken." So, I just take a deep breath and "I wait patiently." No matter what has happened and will happen, "I wait patiently."

No matter what has happened, I have a new second, a new minute. The last second, the last minute is over and I have a new one in which to start over. And I start over by being patient.

Now he continues, "I wait patiently before God," Yes with God there are no beginnings and no endings. He is alway working and he is for sure a winner, "for my victory comes from him."

Yes, David was in a lot of battles and with God's help and guidance he was the victor no matter what happened. Now victory from God's view is different from what we may think victory is. Yes, he can see everything from his point of view and he is not controlled by all these beginnings, in fact he is the beginning. Genesis 1:1 says, "In the beginning God." Over in the last book of the Bible, Revelation 22:16 it says, "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this message for the churches. I am both the source of David and the heir to his throne. I am the bright morning star." He is the beginning of each of our days.

So, we go to God to start our day because he is the beginning and he is the bright morning star. Verses 1-2 in the Message says, "God, the one and only - I'll wait as long as he says. Everything I need comes from him, so why not? He's solid rock under my feet, breathing room for my soul, an impregnable castle: I'm set for life." And it starts right now! Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning

Monday... He did it by Himself

Isaiah 44:24b (AMP), "I am the Lord, Maker of all things. Who alone stretches out the heavens, Who spreads out the earth by Myself." Monday... He did it by Himself. Many have a tendency to think very highly of themselves and what they can do. Oh we do have great ability but we are not the source. Yes it is important to have self-confidence but we are limited. The prophet Isaiah in 44:9-10 (NLT) says, "How foolish are those who manufacture idols. These prized objects are really worthless. The people who worship idols don't know this, so they are all put to shame. Who but a fool would make his own god - an idol that cannot help him one bit?" Now later in verse 24 (AMP) he writes, "For the Lord, your Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb says, 'I am the Lord, Maker of all things, Who alone stretches out the heavens, Who spreads out the earth by Myself.'" I love that. "By Myself." Now we do need confidence but we are foolish to ma...

Wednesday... It didn't just happen.

Psalm 16;10 (NLT), "For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave." Wednesday... It didn't just happen. We are headed into a weekend of deep emotion. One that we really really love was killed and it didn't just happen. David in Psalm 16:10 (NLT) writes of this happening. He says about God, "For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave." We read over in the Gospels at the beginning of the New Testament in the Bible of the life of God's Son who came to earth to be our sacrifice so that our soul would not be left among the dead. Jesus came so that we wouldn't have to be buried at death and just left there. But he also shares that Jesus who was going to be killed as a sacrifice for our sins would not have to rot in a grave. David many generations before foretold this and that is what happened. Now that had to be a God thing. We can guess a lot about our future and we d...

Friday... So what is it that you really fear?

1 Corinthians 15:57 (NLT), "But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ." Friday... So what is it that you really fear? Yes, fear holds us back. It seems to take hold of us so that we can't even really enjoy living. Now I have found that one of the best ways to handle fear is to solve the problem of what we fear. Let's say that death is what we really fear. Everyday we wake up afraid to get up because we are afraid to do anything because we are afraid to die. And that is so understandable. Now I have found the solution to fearing death. I have through faith taken care of my fear to die. 1 Corinthians 15:57 (NLT) says, "But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ." Verse 22 (CEV) says, "Adam brought death to all of us, and Christ will bring life to all of us." Death was not God's plan. Adam was created for an eternal life but he and his partner, Eve blew it and sin a...
