Friday... There are awesome miracles for us to see.

Psalm 66:3 (NLT),  "Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people."

Friday... There are awesome miracles for us to see.

So many times we are in such a hurry. On my way to this coffee shop I was going the speed limit but some guy was on my tail. He finally got around me and was able to get to where he wanted faster. I think he was headed to playing a round of golf and some guys may have been waiting on him. I'm sure they had a good reason just like we do when it seems that God is going too slow in what we want him to do for us.

Now God always has a reason for what he does and it is amazing what he can do. David writes in Psalm 66:3 (NLT), "Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people."

Now he also writes in verses 16-19, "Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me. For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke." And we've been there. He continues and shows us a reason why it seems sometimes that he is slow. David says, "If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened." So there is the first thing we need to do. Is there a sin that we need to confess to God? Maybe God is waiting on us.

And this is important to see. Verses 19-20 says, "But God did listen! Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love."

And here is something else we need to be doing. Instead of being anxious and griping we need to be praising. Verse 8 says, "Let the whole earth bless our God and loudly sing his praises. Our lives are in his hands, and he keeps our feet from stumbling. You have tested us, O God; you have purified us like silver." Yes, he has a purpose.

I also was reading this morning over in John 21 of one of the disciples who was having trouble in believing that Jesus had come back to life. Our non-believing can hold us back on our time. Verse 24-25 says, "One of the twelve disciples, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin), was not with the others when Jesus came. They told him, 'We have seen the Lord!' But he replied, 'I will not believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, and put my fingers into them, and placed my hand into the wound in his side."

Now look at this. Verses 26-29 says, "Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked, but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. 'Peace be with you, ' he said. Then he said to Thomas, 'Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your hand into the wound in my side. Don't be faithless any longer. Believe!' 'My Lord and my God!' Thomas exclaimed. Then Jesus told him, 'You believed because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me." The key word here is "Believe!"

Yes, there are awesome miracles for us to see. It is not God who is slow. He knows what he is doing. So let's confess, praise and believe. And that can calm our anxiety and impatience. And Psalm 66:3 (NLT) says, "Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people." Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning

Friday... We have this hope of expectancy.

Psalm 5:3 (NLT), "Listen to my voice in the morning Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly." Friday... We have this hope of expectancy. Now David found a great way to start his day. He says in Psalm 5:1-3 (NLT), "O LORD, hear me as I pray." And that is a great place to start. It really is. Morning sunrise He goes on, "Listen to my cry for help, my King, my God, for I pray to no one but you." And that is so important. We don't try to pump ourselves up by ourself. No, we pray to no one but you, God, my LORD, my King. Now this relationship with God is so, so very important. And then David says, "Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you" And that is so great. And then he says, "and wait expectantly." Yes, we have this hope of expectancy. We are experienced. That is what a relationship with God and a moment by moment connection does. It makes a difference in our daily wa...

Friday... Yes, we can know this to be true.

Psalm 12:6 (NLT), "The Lord's promises are pure, like silver refined in a furnace, purified seven times over." Friday... Yes, we can know this to be true. Maybe this is what you want to say in this day in which we live. Psalm 12:1-2 (MSG) says, "Quick, I need your helping hand! The last decent person just went down, all the friends I depend on gone. Everyone talks in lie language; lies slide off their oily lips. They doubletalk with forked tongues." Do you ever feel that way?" Have you found that to be true? Well David the writer of this Psalm continues and says in verse 6 something to encourage us, to lift us up, to give us hope. Psalm 12:6 (NLT) says, "The Lord's promises are pure, like silver refined in a furnace, purified seven times over." The Message Paraphrase says verses 6-8 this way, "God's words are pure words, pure silver words refined seven times in the fires of his word-kiln, pure on earth as well as in heaven, God, keep ...

Friday... So what is it that you really fear?

1 Corinthians 15:57 (NLT), "But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ." Friday... So what is it that you really fear? Yes, fear holds us back. It seems to take hold of us so that we can't even really enjoy living. Now I have found that one of the best ways to handle fear is to solve the problem of what we fear. Let's say that death is what we really fear. Everyday we wake up afraid to get up because we are afraid to do anything because we are afraid to die. And that is so understandable. Now I have found the solution to fearing death. I have through faith taken care of my fear to die. 1 Corinthians 15:57 (NLT) says, "But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ." Verse 22 (CEV) says, "Adam brought death to all of us, and Christ will bring life to all of us." Death was not God's plan. Adam was created for an eternal life but he and his partner, Eve blew it and sin a...
