Psalms 118:5-6 ((AMP), "Out of my distress I called on the LORD; The LORD answered me and set me free. The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can [mere] man do to me?"
Wednesday... Is this what we need for today?
We are getting close to a midterm election here in the USA and all we hear and see is how much we need these people to take care of us. And for sure we don't need those other people. Yes, there is a whole lot of negativity going on so this is what we need for today.
Here is what the writer of Psalms 118 (AMP) says to us. Verses 5-6 says, "Out of my distress I called on the LORD; The LORD answered me and set me free. The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can [mere] man do to me?"
Vese 6 says, "The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can [mere] man do to me?" I think we need to hear that today. But the evil one doesn't want us to hear it, to read it.
No, we can't avoid hearing all that the Republicans and Democrats will do for us and what the other side won't do. Now understand that this wasn't God's initial plan but the children of Israel wanted a King and he gave them one. And the Old Testament shows how that worked out. Oh there were some good Kings in there who listened to God but for the most part they did their own thing. Just as so many leaders are doing today.
Listen, no matter what distress you are going through today you can call upon the LORD. Verse 5 says, "Out of my distress I called on the LORD; The LORD answered me and set me free." Now, God will work through leaders who put their trust in Him but there are so many that don't have a clear channel to God.
Yes, it is definitely important for us to vote but before we do we need to stop and pray about what we must do. We need to call on the LORD. That is what our nation and our family needs us to do.
Again verse 5 says, "Out of my distress I called on the LORD; The LORD answered me and set me free." And yes he will. He is our source.
Verse 6 says, "The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can [mere] man do to me?" Yes, believe that. That is true.
The New Living Translation says, "In my distress I prayed to the LORD, and the LORD answered me and set me free. The LORD is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me."
Yes, we need that today. He is our source. He is the one to set us free. And we can trust that He is for us and we don't need to be afraid. Again, "What can mere people do to me." Yes,"The LORD is for me." Believe it! Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
