Romans 16:17 (MSG), "Now I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who create divisions and obstacles that are contrary to the teachings you have learned."
Thursday... There is so much confusion.
There really is. So much of what is believed today comes from places other than God's Word and it can be contrary to the teachings we have learned. But that was also true during the time of Paul and in his writings. In his letter to the church in Rome in the last chapter of Romans, in chapter 16 and verse 17 (MSG) he writes, "Now I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who create divisions and obstacles that are contrary to the teachings you have learned."
He then says in verse 18, "For such people are not serving our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive." And it is so easy for us to believe from our wants instead of from God's Word and his wisdom.
Now in verse 19b (NLT) Paul says, "I want you to be wise in doing right and to stay innocent of any wrong."
David in Psalm 36:1-3 (NIRV) says, "I have a message from God in my heart. It is about the evil ways of anyone who sins. They don't have any respect for God. They praise themselves so much that they can't see their sin or hate it. Their mouths speak words that are evil and false. They do not act wisely or do what is good."
Now here is what the Bible says in verses 5-9 (NLT), "Your unfailing love, O LORD, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like ocean depths. Your care for people and animals alike, O LORD. How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings. You feed them from the abundance of your own house, letting them drink from your river of delights. For you are the fountain of delights. For you are the fountain of life, the light which we see."
Now back to Romans 15:19-20, It says, "But everyone knows that you are obedient to the LORD. This makes me happy. I want you to be wise in doing right and to stay innocent of any wrong. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you."
Believe it and claim it. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
