Monday... Yes, He is and yes they are.

Jeremiah 10:6 (NLT), "LORD, there is no one like you! For you are great, and your name is full of power."

I love reading the Bible. I love to read many of the books in the Bible and many Versions. Right now, I am reading three books, the Psalms, Jeremiah and 1 Corinthians. And I usually start my morning reading in the New International Version and then on to the New Living Translation.

Now here is what I found today in Jeremiah 10 in the New Living Translation. Verse 6 says, "LORD, there is no one like you! For you are great, and your name is full of power." And yes He is, but verse 8 says, "People who worship idols are stupid and foolish. The things they worship are made of wood." And yes they are.

Now have we stopped and thought about what we may worship? They may not be made just of wood but they are made many times by us, by other people but for sure they aren't the real God.

Jeremiah says in verses 3-5, "Their ways are futile and foolish. They cut down a tree, and a craftsman carves an idol. They decorate it with gold and silver and then fasten it securely with hammer and nails so it won't fall over. Their gods are like helpless scarecrows in a cucumber field! They cannot speak, and they need to be carried because they cannot walk. Do not be afraid of such gods, for they can neither harm you nor do you any good."

Now Jeremiah 10:8 in the Amplified Bible says, "But they are altogether irrational and stupid and foolish in their discipline of delusion - their idol is [only] wood [it is ridiculous. empty and worthless]!"

Yes, Jeremiah is right (NLT) "People who worship idols are stupid and foolish." And we really are.

Yes, "LORD, there is no one like you! For you are great, and your name is full of power."

David writes in Psalm 40:1-3, "I waited patiently for the LORD to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the LORD."

Verse 4a in the Amplified Bible says, "Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who makes the LORD his trust."

Now over in 1 Corinthians 2:13-16 (NLT), Paul writes, "When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given us by the Spirit, using the Spirit's words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren't spiritual can't receive these truths from God's Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can't understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. For, who can know the LORD's thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him? But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ."

Now Isaiah 64:4 says, "For since the world began, no ear has heard and no eyes has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him!" And 1 Corinthians 2:9 says, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him."

So let's worship and give our lives to the real God. May he be the LORD we serve. Let's give Him our life, let's give him our love. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning

Friday... We have this hope of expectancy.

Psalm 5:3 (NLT), "Listen to my voice in the morning Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly." Friday... We have this hope of expectancy. Now David found a great way to start his day. He says in Psalm 5:1-3 (NLT), "O LORD, hear me as I pray." And that is a great place to start. It really is. Morning sunrise He goes on, "Listen to my cry for help, my King, my God, for I pray to no one but you." And that is so important. We don't try to pump ourselves up by ourself. No, we pray to no one but you, God, my LORD, my King. Now this relationship with God is so, so very important. And then David says, "Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you" And that is so great. And then he says, "and wait expectantly." Yes, we have this hope of expectancy. We are experienced. That is what a relationship with God and a moment by moment connection does. It makes a difference in our daily wa...

Friday... Yes, we can know this to be true.

Psalm 12:6 (NLT), "The Lord's promises are pure, like silver refined in a furnace, purified seven times over." Friday... Yes, we can know this to be true. Maybe this is what you want to say in this day in which we live. Psalm 12:1-2 (MSG) says, "Quick, I need your helping hand! The last decent person just went down, all the friends I depend on gone. Everyone talks in lie language; lies slide off their oily lips. They doubletalk with forked tongues." Do you ever feel that way?" Have you found that to be true? Well David the writer of this Psalm continues and says in verse 6 something to encourage us, to lift us up, to give us hope. Psalm 12:6 (NLT) says, "The Lord's promises are pure, like silver refined in a furnace, purified seven times over." The Message Paraphrase says verses 6-8 this way, "God's words are pure words, pure silver words refined seven times in the fires of his word-kiln, pure on earth as well as in heaven, God, keep ...

Wednesday... It is amazing what we can see.

Psalm 3:3a (NLT), "But you, O LORD, are a shield around me." Wednesday... It is amazing what we can see. And what we see does make such a difference in our day. Now David, he writer of Psalm 3 starts this Psalm this way. He says in verse 1 (NLT), "O Lord, I have so many enemies; so many are against me." Yes, he is saying this to the LORD, the one he serves. Verse 2 says, "So many are saying, 'God will never rescue him!'" And that is so true with that outlook. So many of us get out of bed with that outlook every morning. It is amazing what we can see. Now I woke up this morning and eventually found myself outside on my couch with my Bible and I read this outlook in verses 1-2 from David. But I didn't stop there and neither did David. But that is an easy place to stop, isn't it? And it is true. Yes, David didn't stop there. Verses 3-4 says, "But you, O LORD, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.
