Psalm 58:11 (NLT), "Then at last everyone will say, 'There truly is a reward for those who live for God; surely there is a God who judges justly here on earth.'"
Friday... There are so many opportunities and rewards.
There really are when we live for God. And justice is one as David says in Psalm 58:11(NLT), "Then at last everyone will say, 'There truly is a reward for those who live for God; surely there is a God who judges justly here on earth.'" Yes, there is surely a tremendous reward.
Now Paul over in 1 Corinthians 16 tells of another one. In 16:7 he writes in his first letter to the Corinthian church, "This time I don't want to make just a short visit and then go right on. I want to come and stay awhile, if the Lord will let me." And that phrase "if the Lord will let me" leads also to great opportunities and rewards.
Of course that to us may not sound like a reward but it is. Yes, the LORD wants to have a hand in our life. He sees out ahead and we don't. He has a greater purpose and opportunity than we think we do. Yes he knows best.
Yes, we do have wants but so does God and he has a plan that is greater than any plan we might have.
If you read the story of Paul you will see that he was called by God to be a church planter. God would lead him to a town and Paul would share the gospel and people would believe and he would raise up leaders by staying for awhile, and then head to the next new town. Paul then would write letters back to them to encourage then. He really did care. To the church in Corinth he wrote two letters but Paul really wanted to see them in person but God had other plans, other churches to be planted.
Have you stopped to think that the God who created all of this has an interest in us and a plan for us and how amazing it is? Having someone who sees the future and knows what is best is a great reward for us who serve him.
I was talking to one of my barista friends and she said that her grandma had just died and she had gone to her funeral. And I said that I was the oldest in my family and I have said goodbye to my grandparents and parents and someday my kids will do the same to me but that is all in God's plan. He knows when and what and where and that is tremendous reward.
We do have wants but we will be rewarded if do we what God wants. Yes God knows best and He can be trusted.
Yes, there are so many opportunities and rewards when we serve God. Yes, he is a God of justice and a God with a personal plan and He knows best. So let's let Him have control. So let's do what He will let us do! And we will be reward with a life that is way beyond what we can imagine. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
