Thursday... Now this is so important to see.


Romans 11:33 (NLT), "Oh, how great are God's riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!"

Thursday... Now this is so important to see.

Yes, it is important for us to really see how great God is in his mercy and his grace. We really don't deserve what he has done and is doing for us and others.

Paul in his writing to the gentiles in Rome says in Romans 11:33 (NLT), "Oh, how great are God's riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!"


Yes, God has given us his Word and he has given us his Holy Spirit to show us his riches and wisdom and teach each of us his knowledge and show us his decisions and his ways but we are still humans with ideas of our own.

Now there is a lot of discussion about the Jews of our day. Paul in his writing in verses 28-32 says, "Many of the people of Israel are now enemies of the Good News, and this benefits you Gentiles. Yet they still are the people he loves because he chose their ancestors Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. For God's gifts and his call can never be withdrawn. Once, you Gentiles were rebels against God, but when the people of Israel rebelled against him, God was merciful to you instead. Now they are the rebels, and God's mercy has come to you so that they, too, will share in God's mercy. For God has imprisoned everyone in disobedience so he could have mercy on everyone."

Now we as human beings believe that in no way after what they have done will God have mercy for them. But again, Romans 11:33 says, "Oh, how great are God's riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!"

Listen, we need to get out of the judgment business and to the wisdom and knowledge of who God really is and what it is he does and thinks and gives. We must realize that he is a God of mercy and grace and he is not finished with us yet.

Verses 11-12 says, "Did God's people stumble and fall beyond recovery? Of course not! They were disobedient, so God made salvation available to the Gentiles. But he wanted his own people to become jealous and claim it for themselves. Now if the Gentiles were enriched because the people of Israel turned down God's offer of salvation, think how much greater a blessing the world will share when they finally accept it."

Listen, verse 2 says, "No, God has not rejected his own people, whom he chose from the very beginning." God has not given up on any of us because of his love and mercy and we shouldn't either no matter what it is and what they have done. Verse 6 says, "And since it is through God's kindness, then it is not by their good works. For in that case, God's grace would not be what it really is - free and undeserved."

None of us deserve God's grace and mercy so let's get out of the judgement business. Now there will be a time of God's judgement but it is not now.

"Oh, how great are God's riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!" Let's just accept it. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning

Nehemiah 6:16b (NLT), "They realized this work had been done with the help of our God." Tuesday... I wonder what would happen if we didn't take the credit? Over in the Old Testament in the book of Nehemiah it tells of a major task that through the leadership of Nehemiah was accomplished. The walls of Jerusalem had been torn down and God had laid it on Nehemiah to build those walls back up. When our enemies and the surrounding nations heard about it, they were frightened and humiliated. They realized this work had been done with the help of our God." Now, we so many times want to take credit for doing the impossible. It would make such a difference for us. But I wonder what would happen through us if God got the credit? Thursday... Maybe we need this word today.

Psalm 57:1b (NIRV), "There I will stay until the danger is gone." Thursday... Maybe we need this word today. There are words in life that give us confidence no matter what we are facing. Now we have to believe them in order for them to have an impact. David wrote Psalm 57 while he was in a cave hiding from Saul who wanted to kill him and he says in the last part of verse 1, "There I will stay." It was a safe place and Saul didn't know that he was there. But he doesn't stop there. With confidence he said, "There I will stay until." And until is definitely a word of faith and confidence. "There I will stay until the danger is gone." Do we need that today? Let me give you the whole verse. In verse 1 David says, "Have mercy on me, God. Have mercy on me." And that is a great place to start in times of trouble. Maybe that is what we need to pray today, "Have mercy on me, God. Have mercy on me." It is so great to have someone...

Tuesday... We just have trouble listening.

1 Corinthians 13:7 (NLT), "Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance." Tuesday... We just have trouble listening. Over in Jeremiah 25:4 (NLT) it says, "Again and again the LORD has sent you his servants, the prophets, but you have not listened or even paid attention." And Jeremiah went on to tell what was going to happen. There will be consequences if we do not listen to what God says through his Word. Now the Apostle Paul over in 1 Corinthians was having a problem with some professed Christ followers who were having trouble at listening. And we too can have problems at listening. We can think that being a Christ follower means we do a lot of finger pointing and we give up on people who don't do what we say. We can even do that in our families.
