Isaiah 66:2 (NIRV), "'Didn't I make everything by my power? That is how all things were created,' announces the LORD, 'The people I value are not proud. They are sorry for the wrong things they have done. They have great respect for what I say."
Monday... Dependency is so important.
Now if I am going to depend on someone then who they are and what they have done makes all the difference. Look at what the prophet Isaiah says in 66:2 (NIRV), "'Didn't I make everything by my power? That is how all things were created,' announces the LORD, 'The people I value are not proud. They are sorry for the wrong things they have done. They have great respect for what I say."
Yes, the LORD created it all by his power. The Amplified Bible says, "'For all these things My hand has made, so all these things came into being [by and for Me]' declares the LORD."
That is where we start. We must believe and that to be the truth. We must depend on that fact and that it is a fact.
I had a discussion the other day with a guy who had problems with the fact that God created it all and of course he does not depend on God. That is where we start and that is so very important for us to believe. I depend on the LORD who created all of this.
Now verse 2 doesn't stop with that fact. It goes on. 2b (NIRV) is also announced by the LORD. It says, 'The people I value are not proud. They are sorry for the wrong things they have done. They have great respect for what I say."
The AMPLIFIED BIBLE says, "But to this one I will look [graciously], to him who is humble and contrite in spirit, and who [reverently] trembles at My word and honors My commands." That is what a dependent person looks like to God. Listen, a proud person depends upon themself. A humble person depends upon God.
Yes, I want God to look at me graciously. He knows the truth about us and he knows who we believe in And he knows that we are not perfect. He doesn't ask for that. He asks for humility, not pride. He also wants us to be sorry for the wrong things we have done and to respect what He says.
The New Living Translation says, "My hands have made both heaven and earth; they and everything in them is mine. I the Lord have spoken! 'I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word.'"
Yes dependency on God is so important. And to be be valued by God makes all the difference. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
