Acts 2:21 (AMP), "And it shall be that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord [invocking, adoring, and worshiping the Lord Jesus] shall be saved (rescued spiritually)."
Tuesday... We have listened and done His instructions.
There are definitely a lot of fears in our life. And death is one of them because we have never personally experienced it. But if we have listened and done God's instructions then we will not be held in death's power and that is definitely a good thing, isn't it? Now it is an unknown that we haven't personally experienced. Yes in others but not us personally.
Now in Acts 2:21 (AMP) Peter is speaking and he says, "And it shall be that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord [invocking, adoring, and worshiping the Lord Jesus] shall be saved (rescued spiritually)."
Verse 38 says, "And Peter said to them, "Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptised, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Yes, you shall be saved (rescued spiritually).
Earlier Peter was talking about Jesus and his death. Now Jesus crucifixion and His resurrection had just happened. His death was on their minds and death is one of our great fears. And Peter says in verse 24 something that they needed to hear and that we too need to hear. He says, "But God raised Him up, releasing Him and bringing an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in death's power." And Peter, the other disciples and believers needed to handle this in their own minds and hearts and we do too in ourselves.
What is true of Jesus is also true of those of us who have personally done what we have just shared in verses 21 and 38. We too personally can be released and brought to an end of the agony of death and being held in death's power.
Again verse 21 says, "And it shall be that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord [invocking, adoring, and worshiping the Lord Jesus] shall be saved (rescued spiritually)."
Now for those of us left behind death is very difficult but for those of us who are believers we can be no longer held in death's power. "But God raised Him up, releasing Him and bringing an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in death's power." And that can be true of us too if we have listened and done His instructions. Yes, yes! #todaysbegininng
