Friday... This can be a good thing for us to know.


Psalm 139:1 (NLT), "O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me."

Friday... This can be a good thing for us to know.

We always want to be honest with those who are in our life but sometimes honesty can make relationships difficult except with God.

Do you remember that phrase in the movie, "You can't handle the truth"? Have you found that to be true with someone close to you? Honesty can cause problems, can't they?

Well, King David in Psalm 139:1 (NLT) says, "O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me." And He definitely can handle the truth and He definitely can make a difference in us but that is not always true with others.

I've known marriages that never worked because one of the two was honest at the very beginning and there wasn't real but emotional love. And that is so sad, but that is not true with God.

Verse 7 says, "I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence!" Now if we aren't wanting to be honest with God then that can be a problem for us but if we are honest it can be such a good thing.

Verses 5 & 6 (NIRV) says, "You are all around me, behind me and in front of me." Yes, that may be a real problem for some. But this is so very good. David goes on, "You hold me safe in your hand. I'm amazed at how well you know me. It's more than I can understand."


And then verses 9 & 10, "Suppose I were to rise with the sun in the east. Suppose I travel to the west and sink into the ocean. Your hand would always be there to guide me. Your right hand would still be holding me close." Yes, He knows and He can do something about what we are going through.

Now in all of this David writes something that is so important for us to know and that we need to pray to God. Verses 23-24 says, "Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life."

The Amplified Bible Translation says, "Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart; Test me and know my anxious thoughts; And see it there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way."

Yes, we need to be honest with God because He already knows and He wants to take care of those anxious thoughts and those hurtful ways. And we need to also be honest with our mates. Real love for and from them and with God makes such a difference. And for sure, we need to be honest with God because He already knows. And this is a very good thing for us to know. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning

Now we have to believe them in order for them to have an impact. It was a safe place and Saul didn't know that he was there. But he doesn't stop there. With confidence he said, "There I will stay until." And until is definitely a word of faith and confidence. Tuesday... We just have trouble listening.

1 Corinthians 13:7 (NLT), "Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance." Tuesday... We just have trouble listening. Over in Jeremiah 25:4 (NLT) it says, "Again and again the LORD has sent you his servants, the prophets, but you have not listened or even paid attention." And Jeremiah went on to tell what was going to happen. There will be consequences if we do not listen to what God says through his Word. Now the Apostle Paul over in 1 Corinthians was having a problem with some professed Christ followers who were having trouble at listening. And we too can have problems at listening. We can think that being a Christ follower means we do a lot of finger pointing and we give up on people who don't do what we say. We can even do that in our families. Friday... It is so exciting but wait a minute.

Proverbs 19:2 (NLT), "Enthusiasm without knowledge is no good; haste makes mistakes." Friday... It is so exciting but wait a minute. This time of the year is so exciting. We get our paycheck from work and then we head to the store or Amazon and buy and buy and buy all those presents and then our check is gone Proverbs 19:2 (NLT) says, "Enthusiasm without knowledge is no good; haste makes mistakes." But buying gifts can be so much fun and seeing how happy they are when opening those presents makes us feel so good. But then verse 3 says, "People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then they are angry at the Lord." Now for some that is their life. They get money and they spend it on their wants with no thought of what needs to be paid. An important lesson that we have learned is just because you have money in the bank doesn't mean you must spend it. But our enthusiasm takes over.
