Psalm 109:4 (NLT), "I love them, but they try to destroy me with accusations even as I am praying for them."
Tuesday... So, how is it going?
David writes in Psalm 109:4 (NLT), "I love them, but they try to destroy me with accusations even as I am praying for them." So, how is your life going? Is something like that happening to you?
Yes, life can be tough. People around you may be constantly trying to bring you down. And it is important for us to see that we are not alone.
Now I love the Bible, the honesty of God's Word. Here in Psalm 109 David was having some problems with people. They were people he loved but they were putting him down, they were accusing him.
Verse 3 says, "They surround me with hateful words and fight me for no reason." Maybe that is what you are going through. Well you are not alone. And maybe that is important for you to really understand today.
The Amplified Bible says in verses 2b-5, "They have spoken against me with a lying tongue. They have fought against me with words of hatred, and have fought against me without a cause. In return for my love, they attack me, but I am in prayer. They have repaid me evil for good, and hatred for my love."
Yes, there is encouragement for your situation. Now David doesn't leave us in our despair. And that is why I have read a Psalm everyday for over 40 years.
Verses 21-22 says, "But You, O GOD, the Lord, show kindness to me, for Your name's sake; Because Your lovingkindness (faithfulness, compassion) is good, O rescue me; For I am suffering and needy, and my heart is wounded within me."
Verse 28a (NLT) says, "Then let them curse me if they like, but you will bless me." In The Message, "Let them curse all they want; you do blessing." And that is so true.
Verse 28 (NLT) continues, "When they attack me, they will be disgraced! But I, your servant, will go right on rejoicing!" Again, "But I, your servant, will go right on rejoicing!"
And verses 30-31 says, "But I will give repeated thanks to the LORD, praising him to everyone. For he stands beside the needy, ready to save them from those who condemn them."
See, you are not alone. Even in the bad times acknowledge that you are not alone and, "give repeated thanks to the LORD, praising him to everyone."
Just a continued encouragement for today from God's Word! Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
