Psalm 108:12-13 (AMP), "Give us help against our adversary, for deliverance by man is in vain [a worthless hope]. With God we will do valiantly, for it is He who will trample down our enemies."
Monday... So, is it all up to us?
Good question. Some say, yes, some say they are not sure and others say Psalm 108:12-13 (AMP) "Give us help against our adversary, for deliverance by man is in vain [a worthless hope]. With God we will do valiantly, for it is He who will trample down our enemies."
Now David starts this Psalm by saying in verse 1a, "O God, my heart is steadfast [with confident faith.]" So from David's standpoint the answer is no. But in this day in which we live many answer, yes it is up to me and others. And therein lies so much frustration.
I am so glad that I believe that it is not all on me and on others. We have had so many come knocking on our door striving to get us to vote for them. Now it is a good thing to have people voting from our view and we do need to vote. But in reality it was not God's plan. He allowed his people to have a King. But He had a better way. We think we know best and God allows us to think that but look where it has taken us. Our politics are a mess.
Verse 1 in the New Living Translation says, "My heart is confident in you, O God." And verse 13, "With God's help we will do mighty things for he will trample down our foes." And verse 12 says, "Oh, please help us against our enemies, for all human help is useless."
Now God does use people. That is what the church is all about. But it starts with Him.
Jesus over in John 7:38 says, "Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, 'Rivers of living water will flow from the heart.'" And then verse 39, "(When he said, 'living water,' he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him. But the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet entered his glory.)" But we celebrate his going back to heaven and that means that the Holy Spirit has been given to us. Yes, we can have His Spirit living in and through us.
So we can pray and believe and live these verses, "Give us help against our adversary, for deliverance by man is in vain [a worthless hope]. With God we will do valiantly, for it is He who will trample down our enemies."
Now He does work through us and others but it starts with His Spirit living in us. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
