Isaiah 8:11a (NLT), "The LORD has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else."
Friday... It depends on our focus.
There is so much in the Bible for our daily walk and attitude and we need to spend time of focus and obeying it.
Isaiah, one of the major prophets in the Old Testament of the Bible writes in 8:11a (NLT), "The LORD has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else."
Isaiah was in a very difficult time and we are too. There was and is so much to cause us to think like everyone else.
Now Isaiah said in verse 12, "Don't call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don't live in dread of what frightens them." Verse 13 (AMP), "It is the LORD of hosts whom you are to regard as holy and awesome. He shall be your [source of] fear, He shall be your [source of] dread [not man]."
And if we do that, verse 14 says, "Then He shall be a sanctuary [a sacred, indestructible shelter for those who fear and trust Him]; But to both the houses of Israel [both the northern and southern kingdoms - Israel and Judah, He will be] a stone on which to stumble and a rock on which to trip, a trap and a snare for the inhabitants of Jerusalem."
Yes, we have a choice.
Peter in the New Testament says in 1 Peter 2:8b (NLT), "They stumble because they do not obey God's word so they meet the fate that was planned for them." He was looking back to what Isaiah wrote.
Peter continues. Verse 9 says, "But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are a royal priest, a holy nation, God's very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of darkness into a wonderful light."
And Isaiah continues in verse 16, "Preserve the teaching of God; entrust his instructions to those who follow me. I will wait for the Lord, who has turned away from the descendants of Jacob. I will put my hope in him."
Yes, "The LORD has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else." Yes. I will put my hope in him" Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
