Proverbs 17:27 (AMP), "He who has knowledge restrains and is careful with his words, and a man of understanding and wisdom has a cool spirit (self-control, and even temper)."
Tuesday... Our reactions can be different at different periods of our life.
Now Proverbs 17:27 (AMP) says, "He who has knowledge restrains and is careful with his words, and a man of understanding and wisdom has a cool spirit (self-control, and even temper)."One things about being 78 going on 79 is to be able to see life through experience and hopefully with wisdom and knowledge. That of course can come from a life with Christ and spending time in His Word.
But time doesn't always make a difference in a positive way.
Verse 28 says (NLT), "Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent; with their mouths shut, they seem intelligent." I love that.
But at different periods of life we have different needs and responses.
Now I am fighting through this time of my life with remembering and it can be too easy to take that personally. And that is not always a good thing, that is not always a wise thing.
Yes, at different periods of life it seems we have different needs and having knowledge and wisdom can be still important. But not being able to remember can cause us to be sensitive and insecure.
Now I have not been through this period of life before and there can be times of insecurity and so our times with God and in His Word with the Holy Spirit can also be really, really needed. Yes, our life is always a life of dependency on God.
And yes this is my goal at my age, "He who has knowledge restrains and is careful with his words, and a man of understanding and wisdom has a cool spirit (self-control, and even temper)."
And that can be true of all of us in our reactions at different periods of our life. Yes, I have never lived, I have never had experience at this time of life and that is why I spend time with God because He knows what is ahead. Verse 24 (NLT) says, "Sensible people keep their eyes glued on wisdom, but a fools eyes wander to the ends of the earth." And then verse 12, "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person's strength."
Yes, no matter where we are in life, we need God and His knowledge and wisdom. We need Him! Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
