Psalm 63:1 (NLT), "O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you: my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water."
Monday... They just don't know what they are missing.
I live in a desert. It can be a very dangerous place to live, it really can be. It is so important to have water in the trunk of your car because if something happens to your car out in the desert you will need water to drink. It is so very important.
Now David writes in Psalm 63:1 (NLT), "O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you: my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water."
Now let's say you are driving out in the desert and something happens to your car. It stops and you can't start it and you are getting thirsty, really thirsty and you look around and there isn't any water so you open your trunk and search but there is no water there. Now that can be very dangerous in the desert.
Verse 1 in The Amplified Bible says, "O God, You are my God; with deepest longing I will seek You; My soul [my life, my very self] thirsts for You, my flesh longs and sighs for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water."
Too many times people are facing very difficult situations and they know they need something, they need help. They may be really longing for something. But they don't know what they are missing. In those times. You may not know what you are missing.
That longing is God. He is the One you are missing.
Have you ever woke up in the early morning and you are so frustrated. You have a deep longing for answers. I have found that to be a great time to stop and reach out to God and connect with him.
Verse 6 says, "When I remember You on my bed, I meditate and thoughtfully focus on You in the night watches, for You have been my help, and in the shadow of Your wings [where I am always protected] I sing for joy."
Verses 3-4 (NLT) says, "Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands." And this is so important to realize, "I will be fully satisfied as with the richest foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you."
There are so many people that just don't know what they are missing in their life.
Verse 1 in The Message says, "God - you're my God! I can't get enough of you! I've worked up such hunger and thirst for God, traveling across dry land and weary deserts." God is the one so many are missing. Yes, yes! #todaysbeeginning
