Proverbs 14:6 (NLT), "A mocker seeks wisdom and never finds it, but knowledge comes easily to those with understanding."
Thursday... Yes, it can come easily.
Proverbs 14:6 (NLT) says, "A mocker seeks wisdom and never finds it, but knowledge comes easily to those with understanding." So it seems that understanding makes a difference.
Verse 6 in the Amplified Bible says, "A scoffer seeks wisdom and finds none [for his ears are closed to wisdom], but knowledge is easy for one who understands [because he is willing to learn]."
And then The Message, "Cynics look high and low for wisdom - and never find it; the open-minded find it right on their doorstep."
Now it seems that we need to understand how important wisdom and knowledge is in this life we are living and that they go together. We really need to understand that and that it can come easily to the one who is willing, who wants to learn and who is open-minded.
Let's go on. Verse 8 (NLT), "The prudent understand where they are going, but fools deceive themselves."
So what does prudent mean? It means showing careful thought and good judgment, especially when planning for the future or avoiding unnecessary risks. It's the kind of wisdom that says, "Maybe I won't spend my entire paycheck on exotic cheese this week... just in case." Or whatever is our weakness. So let's be prudent and understand.
Verse 8 in The Message, "The wisdom of the wise keeps life on track; the foolishness of fools lands them in the ditch."
Verse 29 (NLT), "People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness."
Verse 33, "Wisdom is enshrined in an understanding heart; wisdom is not found among fools." In the Amplified Bible it says, "Wisdom rests [silently] in the heart of one who has understanding, but what is in the heart of [shortsighted] fools is made known." Isaiah 32:6 (NLT) says, "For fools speak foolishness and make evil plans. They practice ungodliness and spread false teachings about the Lord. They deprive the hungry of food and give no water to the thirsty." That's what the Prophet Isaiah says.
Verse 33 in The Message, "Lady Wisdom is at home in an understanding heart - fools never even get to sat hello."
Now that is looking at one chapter in Proverbs. And yes, "knowledge comes easily to those with understanding." It comes from a desire and that desire and understanding comes from God's Spirit. So let's open our ears to what the Spirit is saying to us. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
