Romans 8:1 (NLT), "So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death."
Tuesday... What a difference he can make.
Back in Isaiah 59:1-2 (NLT) Isaiah writes, "Listen! The Lord's arm is not too weak to save you, nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call. It's your sin that has cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen." Yes, there is a problem. It is sin.
Look at this. Romans 8:5-8 says, "Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your minds leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God's laws, and it never will. That's why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God."
Yes, God set out to do something about this problem of sin. He sent his son, Jesus to be the sacrifice that we needed and also his Spirit to live within us. Romans 8:1 (NLT) says, "So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death." We must turn to Him. We must ask him to forgive us of our sins and to come into our life.
The death and resurrection of Jesus takes care of the forgiveness of our sins if we ask him and asking his Spirit to come and live within us deals with the reason why we sin. God knows what he is doing and what a difference he can make in our lives if we ask him and let him.
Yes, God has taken care of the problem but we need to ask Jesus to forgive our sins and ask his Spirit to come in and take control of our sinful nature and to control our mind which leads to life and peace.
What a difference God can make in our lives if we ask him to forgive us of our sins and ask his Spirit to come in and control us. Remember "So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death." We cannot do it alone. But what a difference Christ and his Spirit can make in our life. Yes, yes!
