Thursday... Let's keep on track!
Over in Deuteronomy 20:3b-4 (NLT) Moses writes, "Do not be afraid as you go out to fight your enemies today! Do not lose heart or panic or tremble before them. For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!" If we want to win, we must keep on track! But there is so much that is out there to distract us
Over in Mark 4:18-19 Jesus says to his disciples, "The seed that fell among thorns represents others who hear God's word but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things, so no fruit is produced." There is so much out there that is striving to distract us. There really is.
I got to the place where I was going to write this morning and I found that I didn't have my phone with me and I was tempted to get off track in my writing. There is so much out there that wants to distract us from doing what is important. And Moses knew that being afraid, losing heart, panicking and trembling was not a good thing for a soldier headed out to battle.
And Jesus knew what was a distraction that crowded out the message people needed to hear. He knew that worries, the lure of wealth and the desire for other things could get in the way of producing fruit in their lives.
Now he continues in verse 20. He says, "And the seed that fell on good soil represents those who hear and accept God's word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as has been planted." And Moses said, "For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!"
So what is distracting us from hearing and accepting God's word so he can produce a harvest of thirty, sixty and a hundred times as much as has been planted?
Our enemy wants to distract and our God wants us to keep on track so he can produce through us and give us the victory.
Again, "And the seed that fell on good soil represents those who hear and accept God's word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as has been planted." It is amazing what battles God can win in our lives and what he can produce in and through us if we just keep on track. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
