Friday... Three words that mean, this is important.
Proverbs 4:23 (NIRV), "Above everything else, guard your heart. Everything you do comes from it." So many of us spiritually need open heart surgery.
What is really, really important to you? What is it that drives you everyday? That is probably a good thing for us to stop and analyze. It really is.
We all understand that any problem in our heart physically can lead to death and the same is true spiritually What is the driving force in your life?
Verses 23-27 in The New Living Translation says, "Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Avoid all perverse talk; stay away from corrupt speech. Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don't get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil."
1 Timothy 4:7-10 says, "Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives tales. Instead train yourself to be godly. 'Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promoting benefits in this life to come.' This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it. That is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers." And then verse 16, "Stay true to what is right for the sake of your own salvation and those who hear you."
So, "Above everything else, guard your heart. Everything you do comes from it." Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
