Monday... To benefit or suffer, which will it be? And that is a good question.
The writer of Proverbs 9:4 (MSG) asks another question. He asks, "Are you confused about life, don't know what's going on?" And then in verse 6 he says, "Leave your impoverished confusion and live."
The NLT puts it this way, "Leave your simple ways behind and begin to live; learn to use good judgment."
Verses 11-12 says, "Wisdom will multiply your days and add years to your life. If you become wise, you will be the one to benefit. If you scorn wisdom, you will be the one to suffer." The MSB says, "Live wisely and wisdom will permeate your life; mock life and life will mock you."
And back to verse 10 (AMP), "The reverent fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and preeminent part of wisdom [its starting point and its essence]. And the knowledge of the Holy One is understand and spiritual insight." And as the NLT puts it, "Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment."
So let's benefit. "Leave your impoverished confusion and live." So seek wisdom. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
