Tuesday... Whys are difficult but who and what can make such a difference.

Psalm 74:12 (NLT), "You, O God, are my king from ages past, bringing salvation to the earth."

Tuesday... Whys are difficult but who and what can make such a difference.

Yes, our life has so many whys. Right now there are whys around us that we may not understand.

Look at Psalm 74. Asaph in verse 1 (NLT) says, "O God, why have you rejected us so long." Verse 11a says, "Why do you hold back your strong right hand?" And that is in the Bible.

Yes, our whys can be honest feelings. Maybe you are having some right now and they are bringing you down to despair and doubt. Yes, God allows them but who and what are so important and we need to hold on to them especially during our whys.

Now the rest of verse 11 says, "Unleash your powerful fist and destroy them." and that tells us that Asaph has seen God work in other times. The who he was talking to has what it takes to take care of their problems and that is so important for us to dwell on to strengthen our faith and to hold on.

So he continues in verse 12. He writes, "You, O God are my king from ages past, bringing salvation to the earth." We need to reinforce and remember the who and the what. Oh yes, we are having some problems right now and the why can rob our faith but we need to focus on the who God is and What he has done. So find a quiet place and sit down and remember and reinforce who God is and what he has done in your life.

And that is what Asaph did.

Verses 13-17 (AMP) says, "You divided the [Red] Sea by Your strength; You broke the heads of the sea monsters in the waters. You crushed the head of Leviathan (Egypt); You gave him as food for the creatures of the wilderness. You broke open fountains and streams; You dried up ever-flowing rivers. The day is Yours, the night is also Yours; You have established and prepared the [heavenly] light and the sun. You have defined and established all the borders of the earth [the divisions of the land and sea and of the nations.] You have made summer and winter." He remembered a whole lot of whats.

Over in Luke 7, John the Baptist was in prison and he sent two of his disciples to ask Jesus in verse 19b, "Are you the Messiah we've been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?" He needed to reinforce who Jesus was because he was in a tough spot. Now Jesus it seemed to John and others wasn't acting like the Messiah so he could have been asking why he wasn't acting like a Messiah so Jesus answered him and reinforced who he was and what he was doing.

Verse 22, "Then he told John's disciples, 'Go back to John and tell him what you have seen and heard - the blind see, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor.'" And then verse 23 (MSG), "Is this what you were expecting? Then count yourselves fortunate."

Maybe what we are seeing seems to bring us to asking why but the who and what will make all the difference if we stop and reinforce that God is who is in control and he knows what he is doing.

Yes, life can have a lot of questions but if we focus on who God is and what He has done then we can face the unknown, the whys with Him. Yes, Yes! #todaysbeginning

Friday... We have this hope of expectancy.

Psalm 5:3 (NLT), "Listen to my voice in the morning Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly." Friday... We have this hope of expectancy. Now David found a great way to start his day. He says in Psalm 5:1-3 (NLT), "O LORD, hear me as I pray." And that is a great place to start. It really is. Morning sunrise He goes on, "Listen to my cry for help, my King, my God, for I pray to no one but you." And that is so important. We don't try to pump ourselves up by ourself. No, we pray to no one but you, God, my LORD, my King. Now this relationship with God is so, so very important. And then David says, "Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you" And that is so great. And then he says, "and wait expectantly." Yes, we have this hope of expectancy. We are experienced. That is what a relationship with God and a moment by moment connection does. It makes a difference in our daily wa...

Friday... Yes, we can know this to be true.

Psalm 12:6 (NLT), "The Lord's promises are pure, like silver refined in a furnace, purified seven times over." Friday... Yes, we can know this to be true. Maybe this is what you want to say in this day in which we live. Psalm 12:1-2 (MSG) says, "Quick, I need your helping hand! The last decent person just went down, all the friends I depend on gone. Everyone talks in lie language; lies slide off their oily lips. They doubletalk with forked tongues." Do you ever feel that way?" Have you found that to be true? Well David the writer of this Psalm continues and says in verse 6 something to encourage us, to lift us up, to give us hope. Psalm 12:6 (NLT) says, "The Lord's promises are pure, like silver refined in a furnace, purified seven times over." The Message Paraphrase says verses 6-8 this way, "God's words are pure words, pure silver words refined seven times in the fires of his word-kiln, pure on earth as well as in heaven, God, keep ...

Friday... So what is it that you really fear?

1 Corinthians 15:57 (NLT), "But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ." Friday... So what is it that you really fear? Yes, fear holds us back. It seems to take hold of us so that we can't even really enjoy living. Now I have found that one of the best ways to handle fear is to solve the problem of what we fear. Let's say that death is what we really fear. Everyday we wake up afraid to get up because we are afraid to do anything because we are afraid to die. And that is so understandable. Now I have found the solution to fearing death. I have through faith taken care of my fear to die. 1 Corinthians 15:57 (NLT) says, "But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ." Verse 22 (CEV) says, "Adam brought death to all of us, and Christ will bring life to all of us." Death was not God's plan. Adam was created for an eternal life but he and his partner, Eve blew it and sin a...
