2 Corinthians 4:16 (MSG), "So we're not giving up. How could we!"
Thursday... You see, not a day goes by without grace.
I know, I know we blow it. Each day it seems we blow it. But 2 Corinthians 4:16 (MSG) says, "So we're not giving up. How could we!"
Oh, I know it would be so easy to give up. We just aren't perfect.
Now Paul the writer of this letter doesn't stop. He goes on. Verse 17 says, "Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace." Now that is what we need, isn't it? Again, "not a day goes by without his unfolding grace." Yes, not a day goes by without his grace.
Now that may not be true of us. Psalm 4:4a (NLT) says, "Don't sin by letting anger control you." Someone does something to us and we get angry and we hold on to our anger. As we go to bed all we can think about is our anger. How could they do that?
Verse 4 in the Amplified Bible says, "Tremble [with anger or fear], and do not sin; Meditate in your heart upon your bed and be still [reflect on your sin and repent of your rebellion]." There is no grace in anger.
Back to 2 Corinthians 4. Look at this. Verse 15b (NLT) says, "And as God's grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory."
Verses 16-18 says, "That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don't look back at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever."
Yes as we have given our lives over to God, day by day, he is renewing us by his unfolding grace. You see, not a day goes by without grace. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
