Saturday... And we too can.
King David, the writer of Psalm 138 had days where He needed help. And he gave us an example of what to do when we face those difficult days. In verse 3 (AMP) he said, "On the day I called, You answered me; And You make me bold and confident with [renewed] strength in my life." He then said in verse 7, "Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me." And He will do the same for us. He really will.
Over in Matthew 22 it tells of another man who was going through a tough day. Jesus, God in human form was having these religious leaders trying to trap Him. They wanted to find a good reason to arrest Him. Verse 15 says, "Then the Pharisees went and conspired together plotting how to trap Him by [distorting] what He said." And then verse 23, "On that day some Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection [of the dead], came to Him and asked a question." Verse 35 says, "One of them, a lawyer [an expert in Mosaic Law], asked Jesus a question, to test Him." The last verse in this chapter, verse 46 (MSG) says, "That stumped them, literalist that they were. Unwilling to risk losing face again in one of these public verbal exchanges, they quit asking questions for good." Psalm 138:7 (NLT), "Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will protect me from the anger of my enemies. You reach out your hand, and the power of your right hand saves me."
Remember this, we have access to the same God as Jesus and David
And then verse 8, "The Lord will work out his plans for my life - for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Don't abandon me, for you made me." And we too can pray that prayer today. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
