Psalm 11:1 (AMP), "In the LORD I take refuge [and put my trust]; How can you say to me, 'Flee like a bird to your mountain."
Wednesday... There is so much advice out there and it does make sense.
Now King David writes in Psalm 11:1 (AMP), "In the LORD I take refuge [and put my trust]; How can you say to me, 'Flee like a bird to your mountain."
If we haven't settled the first part then the second part of this verse can make sense. Yes, running away from my problem can make sense. I mean if someone is going after me then running to the mountains does make sense.
But David doesn't stop there. In verses 2-3 he goes on and says, "For look, the wicked are bending the bow; they take aim with their arrow on the string to shoot [by stealth] in darkness at the upright in heart. 'If the foundations [of a godly society] are destroyed, what can the righteous do?'" And that makes sense to the nonbeliever. They don't live from the perspective of taking refuge and putting their trust in the LORD. And the wicked are wanting them to take their advice and run into a trap.
Yes, there is so much advice out there that makes sense if we haven't put our trust in the LORD.
Now David goes on and says in verses 4-5 (NLT), "But the Lord is in his holy Temple; the LORD rules from heaven. He watches everyone closely, examining every person on earth." He knows if He is our refuge and if we have put out trust in Him. Yes, the wicked put down everything that is from God and strive to trap those who have put their trust in the Lord and strive to do what is right.
Verse 5 (NIRV) says, "The LORD watches over those who do what is right. But he really hates sinful people and those who love to hurt others." And then verse 7, "The LORD always does what is right. So he loves it when people do what is fair. Those who are honest will enjoy his blessing."
Verse 7 in The Amplified Bible says, "For the LORD is [absolutely] righteous, He loves righteousness (virtue, morality, justice); The upright shall see His face."
Yes, there is so much advice out there and it does seem to make sense. But let's reinforce the truth that "In the LORD I take refuge [and put my trust]" and remember "the LORD is [absolutely] righteous, He loves righteousness (virtue, morality, justice); The upright shall see His face."
So let's not get trapped by advice that isn't from God. Again, "For the LORD is [absolutely] righteous, He loves righteousness (virtue, morality, justice);" And "The upright shall see His face." Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
