Thursday... Here is a sight that takes your breath away.
Paul in Romans in 10:15b (MSG) says, "That's why the Scripture exclaims, A sight to take your breath away! Great processions of people telling all the good things of God." The New Living Translation says, "How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!"
The scripture Paul is looking back at is Isaiah 52:7 in the Old Testament which says, "How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!" And the MESSAGE says, "A sight to take your breath away."
Romans 10:13-15 (NLT) says, "For 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.' But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, 'How beautiful are the feel of the messengers who bring good news!'"
And that is what God has called us to do. Not to share the bad news, the depressing news but to be apart of "A sight to take you breath away! Great processions of people telling all the good things of God."
So let's do that. Let's be a part of that procession. "How beautiful are the messengers who bring good news" Verse 17 says, "So faith comes from hearing the Good News about Christ." "A sight to take your breath away! Great processions of people telling all the good things of God." Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
