Psalm 21:11 (NLT), "Although they plot against you their evil schemes will never succeed."
Thursday... They don't need to succeed.
We are not in this world alone and there is a lot of plotting going on. Now we have our strengths but we also have our weak spots, don't we? And they are constantly being used against us, aren't they? But this verse here in Psalm 21:11 (NLT) is so encouraging. It says "Although they plot against you their evil schemes never succeed."
King David knows what he is talking about. And he had a lot of weak spots that were used against him over and over and he has written this verse from experience and he writes it to encourage us.
Notice that he starts this Psalm in verse 1 by saying, "How the king rejoices in your strength, O Lord! He shouts for joy because you give him victory."
And verse 6 in the Amplified Bible says, "For You make him more blessed [and a blessing] forever; You make Him joyful with the joy of Your presence." And the You is God.
Now it is so easy for us to live in the world of focusing on our weak spots and yes they are there, they are real. Let's acknowledge them but not focus on them. Yes it helps to acknowledge them but not to live in deep despair over them. O we need to work on them and see how God is working on them but not focus on them. Yes, be honest about them, confess them but don't use them as excuses and let others use them against you.
Focus on, "Although they plot against you their evil schemes will never succeed." Now the Amplified Bible says, "For they planned evil against You; they devised evil against You; they devised a [malevolent] plot and they will not succeed."
Notice that the You is capitalized which means the evil plans are malevolent plots against God and He shows us and encourages us with the fact that they will not succeed. And God is on our side. Verses 12 & 13 says, "For You will make them turn their backs [in defeat]; You will aim Your bowstring [of divine justice] at their faces. Be exalted, Lord, in Your strength; We will sing and praise Your name."
It is not all up to us but there is a lot maturing, confessing and the need to be honest in all of us. And remember this. Verse 7 (NIV) says, "For the king trust in the Lord; through the unfailing love of the Most High he will not be shaken." If we don't put our excuses on our weak spots but put our trust in the Lord, then we will not be shaken.
They don't need to succeed. It's all in the focus and trust! Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
