Monday... We can be victorious.
Yes, we can.
Over in Psalm 72:12-14 (NLT) the writer writes, "He will rescue the poor when they cry to him; he will help the oppressed, who have no one to defend them. He feels pity for the weak and the needy, and he will rescue them from oppression and violence, for their lives are precious to him."
Now this is not talking about what a Presidential candidate can do. It is talking about what God can and will do. Please, let's not get that mixed up. Yes, God can use others but he still is the source. Verse 11 says, "All kings will bow before him, and all nations will serve them." There will be a time when God returns that this will be true.
Now, the Psalms is in the Old Testament of the Bible but here is what the Apostle Paul says in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, which is in the New Testament. He writes, "We are human, but we don't wage war as humans. We use God's mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebelious thought and teach them Christ."
And we can in this day in which we live be victorious if we use God's mighty weapons. not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments."
Now this next verse is tough to hear but we have to understand that it is the truth. Verses 5-6 (AMP) says, "We are destroying sophisticated arguments and every exalted and proud thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ, being ready to punish every act of disobedience, which your own obedience [as a church] is complete."
It is through our obedience to Christ that our victory is realized. Victory does not come through Republicans and Democrats it comes from God through Christ and so much of the unrest and difficulties come from our disobedience and not "taking every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ."
Yes, we can be victorious. Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning.
