Monday... But we sometimes can feel so useless.
Do you ever feel useless? Some just feel that what they are doing is worthless but is that the truth? The evil one wants us to feel that way.
Monday can be a difficult time for those who have ministered on the weekend. After singing and preaching and teaching there can be a very definite meltdown physically and emotionally. And that can be a time when some let down their guard against the evil one. They can give in to the feeling of being useless and maybe feeling what we are doing is useless. And that is not a good thing. We can be so vulnerable to temptations.
Now the Apostle Paul understood this. Yes, for some Monday and any other day where we feel exhausted can be a battle and we can feel that we are losing and useless but Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 says a great word of encouragement. He says "But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ." Even on Monday. Even when we are emotionally down and physically worn out. Verse 57 in the Amplified Bible says, "But thanks be to God, who gives us victory [as conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ." Yes we are conquerors. Not because of us but because of Jesus. And that is true, even on Monday.
He goes on (NLT) and you may need this. "So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless." Whatever your worn out body and the evil one is telling you is wrong, "nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless."
The Amplified Bible says, "Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor waisted [it is never without purpose]."
Be strong, immovable, work enthusiastically, be steadfast, excelling in your work, doing your best, doing more than is needed, continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] is in the Lord and it is not futile, waisted, without purpose and that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.
So let's not let our feelings control us. Remember, "nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless" and "But thanks be to God, who gives us victory [as conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ." Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
