Monday... Look at these. They will make a difference.
Today is the 13th of May and I just read Proverbs 13 in the Old Testament of the Bible and here are some wise words to take hold of and live out.
Verse 10 (NLT) says, "Pride leads to conflict;" Now that is so true. It seems that all conflict comes from pride. I know what is right. Yes I do. So you need to listen to me. No you need to listen to me. "Pride leads to conflict; those who take advice are wise." But that shows that I'm weak. No, it shows you are wise.
Verse 11, "Wealth from get-rich-schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time." Now that is very wise advice. I know it can be hard to get up on a Monday morning and head out to work but that is the way it works. And it is important to even at a young age to start saving a little bit at a time. Yes, it can be hard to save and to live on a budget but it will make all the difference in your life. It also means that you can give to others in need. And it also means you're never too old to start saving and living on a budget. Yes it is hard work. We really love to spend, spend but it really does make a difference to work hard and keep at it and to save and live on a budget.Verse 12 says, "Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life." The Message paraphrase says, "Unrelenting disappointment leaves you heartsick, but a sudden good break can turn life around." We need to have hope and we need to have dreams and to live with expectations. God has a dream for each one of us. He built us with a purpose and we need to live with anticipation and not give up. So, let's keep at it.
And then verse 13 (AMP) says, "Whoever despises the word and counsel [of God] brings destruction upon himself, but he who [reverently] fears and respects the commandment [of God] will be rewarded." That is why it is so important to spend time with God and to read and meditate on his Word, the Bible.
And then three more. Verses 19-21 (NLT) says, "It is pleasant to see dreams come true, but fools refuse to turn from evil to attain them. Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get into trouble. Trouble chases sinners, while blessings reward the righteous."
And those are just s few proverbs out of Proverbs 13. There are 31 chapters of Proverbs that are filled with so much. And there are 30 or 31 days except for February in a month. Give reading one chapter each day a chance. And look at what it says and maybe do some highlighting, so underlining. Again, verse 20 says, "Walk with the wise and become wise, associate with fools and get into trouble." Yes, yes! #todaysbeginning
